It's seriously is a piece of crap! The graphics is ok but the next graphics card for the PC will put that mess to shame. Don't get me wrong they are good but not mind-blowin'.And besides put more effort in actually get more than ten good playable games on the system they would rather concentrate on XBox Live. Yes. Xbox 360 can play Xbox games. They've had to make sure of that cos 360 uses the Xbox Live! online service. And yes, it will have Wifi. primarily this is for linking the controllers to the system, but dont be surprised if you can also link a number of xbox 360 machines together in a wireless Lan.

Lets be serious people. lets stop the fanboy D_ck riding. the unveiling of the xbox "1.5" was a complete disapointment. i must admit i never wanted an xbox. im a huge sony fan because the software is relevant (not just graphics xbox fanboys) but i did want to play 2 games that made me buy an xbox which was doom 3 and half life 2. i have both for my computer but i must face the facts that i dont have a $3000 computer machine so i bought it. everyone talks about the games on xbox suppossedly blowing PS2 away and thats just crazy. i would play socom 1 or 2 over halo 1 or 2 any day of the week. when xbox established 100 games the PS2 already had over 1000. as for the unveiling of the xbox "1.5" (hehe) lets be real.....most of those games looked like damn good xbox 1 games. the only two games that showed next gen graphics was the madden football and the need for speed game (yet the need for speed didnt have a "in game" look, it was like CG graphics....so its even hard to determine that)most of those game you fanboys must admit, looked like great xbox games for example the perfect dark zero and the tony hawk (that tony hawk game looked absolutely horrible for a next gen game....the tires of the bikes werent even round....the were polygon'd and this is no bullshit...i taped the show. this will hurt xbox for sure. because before the unveiled it i honestly felt that i wanted to get it because it was next gen but honestly, im not giving my money to them to get a "prettier looking" xbox 1.

Word of advice. the PS3 will "Dreamcast" the XBox360. thats funny also....360 degrees just means that you're at square one again. lol.

PS3 has great graphics a little better then Xbox 360. The PS3 is only good for graphics. Xbox 360 has many more features. Xbox 360 will also have the games! Which is the most important. If you look at the specs for the ps3 and the xbox 360, the xbox has twice the video ram and will surely perform better than the ps3. Plus you can upgrade the harddrive and ram overtime.

I wouldn't call the PC "Far behind" as it's a different catagory of gaming in itself. It's different to console gaming. At the end of the day, it's up to the software developers to decided if PC lives or not.

the ps3 is gonna have the power of TWO of those ..and its only gonna be 500 bucks

it has a processor..over three times as powerfull as a 3.2g which cost me 250 .. so that alone states that the ps3 should be well over 1000 bucks..

sony also uses blu-ray disk as apose to x-boxs' dvd's

if u havent heard blu ray disks can hold 8 times as more data and transport data 4 times faster then dvd's

x-box 360 is almost obsolete before it almost comes out...

one of the things that suck about it is that its coming out about 6 months AFTER xbox..

some people might not be able to wait for ps3 and just SETTLE for xbox 360..

and im not gonna lie..xbox 360 has some good features that id want in a console..

wireless controllers..the ability to turn on the console FROM the controller..for some of the lazier ppl like me and you..
and the ability to distort the players 1-4 by the color changing sphere on the controller (like if player 1 is yellow in a halo game or somthing his shpere would light up yellow..or it might light up red to indicate whose the leader..or who has the flag in a capture the flag game..etc.)

and i like the onboard 40gb hard drive..

so its still kind of a toss up for me..but i think ill still go with the ps3..

it seems odd that once again people are hyping the PS3 on the word of the Sony Marketing Dept. At least M$ have been showing ingame footage of their games so far and have been fairly open with regards to what the machine will do.
All we have is sony Marketing for what the PS3 will do. (don't forget them rolling out George Lucas with the clamins that the PS2 could render the Pod racing from episode 1 in realtime......)

I saw the Nintendo Revolution controller and I thought this controller look really bad. I saw it in action and some cool features but u handle it like a Tv remote and the joy stick in another hand. It looks hard to use. For intances for you to make mario jump u can flick the controller up and down when it much faster to just press a button. I pretty sure u can use the buttons though. I was excited to see if u could play super smash bros. online...but then I saw the controller and was upset because its hard to use for that type of game.

im not a 'noob' (newbie for those who don't speak '3l33t'). And i'm not a kiddie either. But i think the revolution controller looks by far the most exciting of the three. Obviously its not ideal for some games (platform games, fighting games etc.), but imagine how great it would be in a first person shooter? far more precise than a mouse, keyboard, or analogue stick.
Nintendo has said that for standard games, it will release a more traditional-styled controller - so everyone will be happy.

As for which console will be the best... Who cares.. just buy the one you want and respect each others decisions.

guys its a console not a bloody life or death situation? anyone would think someone had slated your mum? The Xbox 360 is a good console, the games are good and (like the ps2 had time over the xbox) by being out longer it means it can gain a more firm grounding in the market. The ps3 has the graphics to match up to the Xbox 360 but by the time it is out the Xbox games coming out will be rivalling the graphics that Sony's early games will be producing. It is always a fact that no matter what the machine the graphics and games always improve with time. Therefore by the time the PS3 comes out the 360 will be just as good graphically. In the long run the ps3 may out do the 360 but by that time a new console will be almost ready and we wil be forking out for the new xbox 720 lol. I know for a fact that the Xbox 360 is a good console because I have played it. In the end its not always about specs and details, sometimes it comes down to the price, and for a much cheaper price you can buy the xbox 360 while the graphics wil only be a fraction worse off than the ps3, and even that in a few years time. Plus Halo 3 is going to be amazing!

The games are now horrible. The gamecube was the cheapest system and yet it sold the least so wat makes the Wii better besides that piece of shit controller. nobody is going to buy a 600 system. I know about the 500 one but it is junk. The graphics are nt that impressive anymore now that they showed gameplay. It looks very similar to 360 grahics. O yea and cell chip has 3.2Ghz and so does the 360s 3 core cumputers. So sony one ups them with blu-ray. The ps3 will sell very little. Selling mostly to the upper class. But I will assume that these are the same people that supported Sega and Nintendo over Sony in the first place. All of this arguing over a videogame console is a shame. I of course will buy them all and have been the owner of an Xbox 360 since the day that it came out and I can say that it truly is just a polished version of an Xbox. Microsoft should have waited before releasing a console that would be outdated in a year nut they wanted to take some of Sony's thunder from them.

However I have already have 4 games freeze for the Xbox 360 and dozens froze for the original Xbox. While the only problem that I have ever had with my PS or PS2 is a weakening in the driver after about 5 years and by that time the next gen is already out.

If you want a system that won't screw up I would say Nintendo but there consoles are vastly inferior in graphics and the majority of games appeal to children because of the bright colors and silly stories.

If PS3 keeps the same line up that they have had in the past then they will of course win. I know some of you go on and on about Halo and hoe great it is but it is one game anyway you slice it and I wouldn't waste $400 for one game plus $100 for the HD hook up.

While Sony will have all of its great games that have keep the system number 1 for the past 10 years.

PS3 has the best RPG's, and fighting games overall but there Shooters are virtually the same as the ones for Xbox so they are not lacking in any area but price to the XBOX 360.

I also know many people will go on about how great Oblivion is but lets get serious all it is, is a polished up version of Morrowind and the graphics are good but not great or mind-blowing and all of the dungeon and cave diving gets really old after about a week or two. However I will say that running around like a vampire can be entreating but again only for so long.

Now all of the other games with maybe the exception of Hitman Blood Money are only mediocre at best and Sony's launch titles already look better then Microsoft’s next gen coming out this year.

When you break it down the PS3 is the best bargain for the buck. It has a stronger hard drive and is 3-4 times more powerful then the Xbox 360. What does this really mean? Well all you have to do is think of the contrast between the SNES and the N64 and that is how much better the PS3 will be in the long run.

How can an Xbox 360 be the console of consoles when it is inferior to the PS3 by graphics and the Wii by playability? All the trailer for Halo has shown me is that it has a beautifully rendered cut scene but I was more impressed with Assassins Creed, 8 Days and FFXII for PS3.

For Wii Zelda looked good but not great to me Design wise but I will say that I am happy that Link seams to have grown up and the Numb chuck controller for the Wii looks fun but for some reason I see it getting really old after awhile.

So be happy with your Xbox 360 for now but when PS3 comes out and Blu Ray takes over the market don't hate on the PS3 because it puts the 360 to shame because overall it will.

Lastly I know people say Blu Ray will not sell because of cost and the fact that it is not a whole lot crisper looking then HD DVD but all you need to do is go and look up info on the companies that are backing Blu Ray and you will see HD DVD has not chance. To name a few companies that are joining Sony’s Blu Ray band wagon you have Dell, Sony, Panasonic, Sharp, Pioneer, TDK, and JVC to name a few and those backing HD DVD Sanyo, NEC and Toshiba are the only current companies to state there support for HD DVD. So Blu Ray currently has the superior financial backing and the cheapest Blu Ray player that will be available will be a PS3. And as for who will buy a PS3 I currently have 27 collage friends who wants to purchase one ASAP.

So if you like the Xbox 360 then like because its what you want but don’t go on ranting that it is superior PS3 because it just isn’t and people who love the games that are currently on PS2 will buy a PS3 to play the follow up titles and there are many fans.

I already have Twilight Princess ordered and a friend of mine who works at a video game store is going to reserve a Wii for me as soon as it is available. So I will defiantly be playing Zelda but from the trailers that I have seen FFXIII looks like it is in a whole other league but I currently have owned almost every gaming console to date and I will continue to purchase them all as long as I have the money. Thanks for the positive comments Ryu but I did manage to make a few mistakes in my post because it was either late or my wireless keyboard is running low on batteries but nonetheless I think I managed to get my overall view out there.

I imagine that in the beginning both the PS3 and the Wii will sell out. After that most analysts agree that Sony will take in somewhere around 60% of the overall console market. Which is close to the amount of the market that the PS2 has. After that the analysts disagree on whether Nintendo or Microsoft will be in second. Of course this an opinion of the console market that is shared by many. Also according to studies the PS3 is the most popular console in Europe when a survey was conducted and Wii and then Xbox followed it. When a study of 20,000 people in Japan was conducted the Wii took 1st followed by the PS3 and then the Xbox.

The Japanese have obviously not supported the Xbox and who could blame them when a better system is set to launch in November and this system will cost them something like 18,000 yen or around $600.

If Xbox truly wants to be the only console "and they do" they need to throw out a system that is completely unrivaled by the others and without all of the bugs only then will they have a chance at stopping Sony and Nintendo. Of course if Microsoft ever does take over games will cost at least a hundred dollars a peace and the console will probably cost $1000 so keep hoping that all three companies stay in business or other companies come along because if Microsoft does manage to eliminate the competition then you may be better off playing on your computer.

Last note I heard Steve Jobs of Apple has hired several graphic designers and game programmers so they may start making games but I wouldn't mind seeing Apple create a gaming console to introduce to the market but I doubt that will happen.

Here is your explanation in pretty good detail. But remember this is my opinion and reasoning for why I feel PS3 will be better then Xbox 360.

Oblivion has sold around 1.13 million copies for the Xbox 360 according to the most recent poles taken and I can tell you that mot that many more people will buy Oblivion because most people get tired of games like Oblivion. So by market standards Oblivion sold good but not great. Many of PS2 best selling games have sold much more copies of their games in the same amount of time as Oblivion.

All 360 has is FF XI online and nobody plays it anymore. Anyone interested in MMORPG's play World of Warcraft. So not many people are going to waste $50 for the game and $12 a month membership for a game that looks outdated. So the new FF games will come out on PS3 and these games are not scheduled to appear on Xbox 360.

Now Halo is a good game but if you are into playing shooters there many for the PC that are considered better then Halo but since we are talking about how relevant a game is to a console I will start by saying according to the top selling games list Halo 1 sold 6.29 Million copies and Halo 2 sold 7.48 million copies. That’s good but guess what PS2 has 7 games that have sold better then Halo.

Gran Turismo 3 has sold 14.36 million copies and that’s more then Halo 1 and 2 combined.

Now Microsoft’s next highest selling game is Splinter Cell with 2.9 million copies. PS2 has around 30 - 40 games that have sold better then this.

So Xbox's top 3 are

Halo2 7.48 million
Halo1 6.29 million
Splinter Cell 2.9 million

While PS2 top games are

Gran Turismo 3 14.36 million
GTA San Vice City 13.58 million
GTA San Andreas 13.47 million
GTA 3 11.39 million
FF X 7.75 Million

And the list goes on and on with 41 games that out sell Xbox 3rd best selling game of all-time. As I said earlier Gran Turismo 3 has out sold both Halo titles combined and Halo 3 won’t be out until 2007 I will have a PS3 on launch date which November 2006 and by the time Halo is on the market Sony will have an abundance of great games while Xbox 360 has Ping Pong and Tennis.

If you have seen trailers for the PS3 you will notice a game called Assassins Creed which looks about a hundred times better then Oblivion and yes I have seen Oblivion and have felt letdown like many other Morrowind fans because the graphics were not all that great. Hell being a fan of Morrowind I gladly shelled out the extra 10 dollars for the special edition of Oblivion that came with a Coin and a small book that described parts of Oblivion.

Now Gears of War looks good but 8 Days for the PS3 looks just as good enough not better and we still have close to a year before it comes out and by that time it will probably look tons better then Gears of War.

But Assassins Creed and FF XIII have not let me down so far according to the game trailers. Also one of the best RPG’s ever Suikoden will not be appearing on the Xbox 360 as far as anyone knows but they are currently working on it for the PS3. Also according to the best selling games list Medal Gear Sells almost as good as Halo and Medal Gear 4 will probably be out before Halo. Most people that play games like Oblivion or Halo have a computer and just go out and buy the game for their PC. Oblivion has sold more copies on the PC then on the 360 and FF XIII is not scheduled to be on computer.

PS2 also has Kingdom Hearts which is one of the best selling kids games and kids will be able to play these high selling PS2 games on there PS3 because it will be backwards compatible unlike the 360. Microsoft claimed the 360 would be backwards compatible when in reality you could only play around a 100 Xbox games. The Xbox 360 has only shipped 3.2 million units and they have not all been sold yet and this is according to their shipping records for last month. More Xboxes were sold in Japan when released then 360’s and if Sony’s estimates are right they will have roughly twice as many units sold in the same amount of time.

Now don’t get me wrong I have a 360 and have had it since launch but Microsoft tried to hard to beat Sony to the market and have shoot themselves in the foot. The main reason that the Xbox sold as well as it did was because Microsoft waited later and released a more advanced system. This is why all of Xbox fans loved the Xbox in the first place because it was a newer stronger system that was released after the PS2 so Sony has inadvertently stolen Microsoft’s idea and produced a far superior system. You can buy a computer that is stronger then an Xbox 360 but to buy a computer with the PS3 processing power would cost a ton and I do not believe that CPU’s offer Blu-Ray technology. So many of Microsoft’s games will released on the PC while the Games for Sony probably won’t and if they are they will not look as good because Blu-Ray is slightly more appealing then HD-DVD and lastly with a PS3 you can play your friends online for free.

Halo is good but it is one game and that cannot compete with many great games and an abundance of great games is what Sony always manages to bring to the table.

the games for the ps3 and 360 have very similar graphics. When i saw ps3 trails i was very impressived. Now that they came out with gameplay it is nt that big of a deal anymore. The games for the ps3 are nt that great. Assassin's Creed most likely won t just come out for the ps3. It probably will go to the pc and 360. Just like we thought fight night round 3 would be just be for the ps3. Then came out on the 360 and looks nearly the same. Plus final fantasy games suck because telling your guy to attack and watching a number come up to see the damage is nt very entertaining. The price point as well is so the dumbest price point every. the ps3 is nt as strong as your think it is. 3.2ghz for cell and 360 3 core computers. Ps3 has better graphics card but not by much. If was going to to get a computer more powerful then the ps3 and xbox 360. I would build an 900 system with dual graphics card and 3.8 processor. All right I am not going to try and explain too many more times but the first thing you should understand is that oblivion is not sold out at any game stores and no it is not hard to find so the sales have slowed a ton on Oblivion. Call of Duty is the best selling game for Xbox 360 and the poles are as close to accurate as you will get from websites that track unit sells and these sell are accurate as of May 2006 and you will not get any more accurate numbers until next month when the update there totals. Oblivion is the 3rd best selling game for the 360 and when GTA San Andreas came out it sold more copies in a day then oblivion has sold in approximately 4 months. SO Oblivion has sold ok on 360 but it did better on the PC. If you want to discuss first person shooters total profits Doom 3 made more total money then Halo 1 or 2 did (this Xbox and PC sells combined).

Now if you think that Xbox 360 and PS3 have the same Graphics and strength then you have obviously lost your mind. The PS3 is 3-4 times more powerful Graphically y speaking as well as Processing power and here is the lowdown.

Seeing these numbers you would think that the Xbox 360 and PS3 are close to the same in graphics but that is not the case. The New RSX Card is at least 2-3 times more powerful then Xbox’s ATI card and is more powerful then any card that you can currently purchase for your PC. So the PS3 is much more powerful technically speaking.

And if that isn’t bad enough studies show that PS2 is currently outselling Xbox 360 almost every month based on CNN's business section.

PS2- 473,000 units a month

Xbox 360- 246,000 units a month

I never said that people weren’t buying 360’s and what I said is that as of now everyone who wants Oblivion has it. And considering the Xbox 360 is far superior to the Xbox I would have expected more from the games. Of course all the blame doesn’t fall on the 360 but is shared by the developers.

Microsoft expects to sell 4.5 million 360’s by the end of next month and they could be close but Sony claims that they can sell around 10 million units in the same amount of time and Microsoft may have done better if they released more units.

Oblivion will probably sell better when it goes down in price its sell are not over but they are slowing very rapidly and I hope there is another Elder Scrolls but I would like to see more changes in the game.

If you want to see game sells for these consoles go google and look up best selling games on wikipedia and you can see my numbers and this is going to be the most accurate site for sales that you will find I believe.

Lastly Sony has a much larger fan base because most people have had there experiences with PC’s and know that Microsoft loves bugs and extremely renowned for this in there operating systems and sometimes this memory can cause people to get angry and say that they will only buy a Microsoft product when they have to.

Microsoft’s best bet is that they keep there fans from the original Xbox and maybe new fans that have just aged enough to be interested in games and don’t know about the different systems and why one is more popular then another. Most everyone who owns a PS2 will purchase a PS3 over time because there PS2 may eventually break and they will decide either when the price is high or after it has dropped to purchase the new PS3 system because it will still play there favorite PS2 titles.

Now instead of saying a system is better because of a game or price do a little research on tech sites and see why they say a rival system is better. Don’t get me wrong as I have said I have an Xbox 360 with HD hookups and a wireless online attachment and I can’t wait for a new Jade Empire or Gears of war but I expect Sony will sell roughly as many Ps3’s as they sold PS2’s.

Love your 360 but remember we need more then one console on the market if any of the three manage to gain too much ground then they will not have to compete for our business and this is what Microsoft wants. They want to eliminate competition on consoles like they did with their CPU operating system Windows. But I will still purchase all of the available systems and will still feel that Sony will manage to control 60% or so of the console market by the end of 2008 and if Microsoft does then they just do but I will take comfort in the fact that I wasted my money but managed to obtain all of the consoles and will be able to play any game I want at any time without worrying about having the proper console. Love the system because it is proven to be better not because you think it is better. If you know a friend whi buys a PS3 or Wii try it out and see what you think after playing.

That is all you can say is the PS3 sucks at least I understand the tech specs and have done my research on the systems and I will own all of the systems regardless of what you think or don't think. All of you who say the PS3 sucks are just being closed-minded because regardless of what you have heard or what you think you have not really spent time playing the PS3 to say that it sucks.

But since you decide to simply make a statement without keeping and open mind I will say this you can say PS3 sucks all you want but the truth is that PS3 is vastly superior to the Xbox 360 and this because 360 is the best technology now but Sony has teamed up NVIDIA to create a brand GPU that far beyond what the 360 has.

And guess what? I know I do not know everything but I can at least explain why PS3 is better and I do not have to say (360 sucks) but I at least have a reason for why the PS3 is superior at least on paper and game trailers and I have even gone far enough to list the sites that review tech specs and system sells so that you can observe for yourself. But the truth is that all of you claiming that the PS3 sucks can only say that the 360 is better because of price and Halo but next gen involves more then one great selling game and the PS3 is actually utilizing next gen technology while Xbox 360 is just using the best technology right now. Thanks for the positive comment darklink. The only proof that anybody has as to whether the Xbox 360 is better is the rumors started by a couple of journalists that the PS3 is broken and doesn't work right. But Gamespot and Gamesutra both have articles asking the game designers if this is true and every game designer that responded stated that PS3 was harder to work with because of but much more potential. Many designers also stated that because PS3 was burdened by running a large operating system like 360 that it would allow give the PS3 the ability to use more of the consoles power towards running games but we will have to wait and see if this is true or not.

Also Sony made the comment the PS3 was like a Computer because the claim is that the PS3 is easily upgradeable like a computer. Now whether this is true or not remains to be seen but if it is then PS3's potential has increased that much more.

And if you are a G4 fan they downed the PS3 during the earlier part of the E3 but after they had a chance to play the games for the PS3 some of the hosts stated that the games looked a lot better then what they believed it would look like. So it is hard to know for sure what the PS3 will be like but if it lives up to its potential then it definitely will be the console of the next generation and if it doesn’t Sony will still put out another gaming console just like Microsoft has already stated that if the 360 doesn’t take the majority of the market then Microsoft will put out another gaming console. So there will be another console war 5 years from now and many people will start the arguments all over again.

I have a 360 myself but I will say I am still let down by it. The info that I give you can be found on sites such as gamespot or gamesutra if you look. The problem with all of these individuals who think the Xbox 360 is better without truly playing a PS3 is that they seem to be simple fan boys who try curse and point fingers at supposed Sony fan boys when many of us are going to buy all the systems and follow information on how the PS3 is broken and it is not as powerful as the Xbox 360 because the listen to falsified articles from individuals who have received there information from sources that are unreliable. Gamesutra and gamespot both have articles that discuss in detail that these rumors are unreliable and that they do not know for sure which system is better but on paper the PS3 still looks superior. The developers of some multiple console titles also go on to say that the PS3 is more powerful but because of the new cell system it is harder to tap into that power.

However many designers did go on about how game development for the 360 was easier but creating games for the PS3 is not as hard as some articles make it out to be. According to Gamespot one of the developers even goes on to state that creating games for the PS2 was much harder then creating games for the PS3.

The only thing that Xbox might have over PS3 is online play and it has been stated by developers that the 360 maybe able to support more triangles but if you know anything about systems you know that the PS2 could many more triangles then the Xbox could and the Xbox still had better graphics and was a more powerful machine.

I do not think the 360 sucks but Microsoft has still let me down and for all Elder Scrolls fans "me included" the fact of the matter is that Final Fantasy almost always outsells the Elder Scroll games or any other RPG for that matter on PS and Xbox. Proving that whether or not we think Elder Scrolls is better or worse Final Fantasy still has more fans and I imagine that Final Fantasy fans will purchase a PS3 since FF XIII is not listed to come out on 360 and that will make for quite a few console sell for Sony.

Again you go around saying a system sucks but you have not played it to see if it in fact does suck. Worst case scenario for Sony at this point is that the PS3 is on the same level as the 360 but costs more and fans maybe disappointed but I would be willing to bet that many fans will give Sony the benefit of the doubt because they have felt satisfied with the PS1 and PS2 enough to give Sony a substantial lead in the console market. So until Sony truly disappoints these fans I imagine they will stick with Sony especially in the Asian market.

Lastly calling someone and idiot for providing information and where I received this information from makes you sound like the idiot. People if you purchase a PS3 like I will you are not an idiot because you will purchase this system because you want too. The only thing that would make you an idiot is allowing someone to sway your judgment by telling you a system sucks before they have actually experienced the system for themselves. I agree with you ryu and thanks for the positive feedback. You can bash a system all you want but if you haven't played it whether it is a PS3 or a Wii then you can't form an accurate idea of what the console might have on the others.

I guess that because many people have seen the 360 and hoped that PS3 or Wii will bring more to the table. We just want better that is the whole reasoning behind creating new consoles. We want to be wowed and I feel like I haven't been wowed yet.

The 360 had its time it was first to the market now its time for Nintendo and Sony present what they have to offer to us gamers. I gave the Microsoft a chance and now I will give Sony and Nintendo a chance.

So at least there are many of us here who will give all of the console manufactures a chance before we say they suck.

$600 is very cheap for an upgradeable computer because of my profession I have 4 computers that I use for different things and the cheapest one that I own cost many times what a PS3 will. Hell I have friends who spend 2-5 times more then what the ps3 costs for there car stereo and most of them just have a cd player, an amp and a couple of subwoofers. If people are willing to spend large amounts of money on stereo equipment then most of these people will spend $600 on a PS3. My step dad told me that the first VCR he bought cost around $600 and really wasn't that good of a VCR but he still spent money on the VCR as did many people.

Lots of items were more expensive then we realize when they first hit the market and many people purchased these items when the first arrived into the market. I just watched the updated MGS4 trailer that appeared on gametrailers.com for the PS3 and it looked incredible whether it was a cut scene or not and Konami has stated that they finally understand the PS3 and it components and they promise that the game will look much better then what the trailer has shown. If this is true then $600 would be worth it to me. So anyone planning to purchase a PS3 go and check out the new trailer for MGS4 on game trailers website, it will take awhile to download on most computers so expect about a 5-10 minute wait for broadband or cable and much longer for dialup.

So yes darklink in my opinion $600 does not seem that unreasonable for a PS3.

I don't have to ask for your permission before joining a conversation and yes I agree Prey does look sick. I love the fact that you can cut the trees down by rapidly firing your bullets and I only talk about the 360 because you all started in on the PS3. Also you must care because you responded by saying nobody cares. So mastercheif prey does look sick and I will go and have a look at fear now because I haven't seen the trailer for it.

I was reading an article about Microsoft releasing an HDDVD for the 360 latter this year for $250. I hope this is a rumor because this will mean that the 360 will have higher costs then the PS3.

I have a 360 and I have already purchased a wireless internet connector because lets face it we hate to have wire scattered all over the place.

Now id Microsoft releases the HD DVD player for $100 then I will be happy but every article I have read so far says $200 plus but maybe they will be wrong. I would hate to pay $250 just to play the HD DVD games that may come out in the future. That’s almost like buying the core system for $299 to go along with my current $399 system.

It is still uncertain whether or not the HD-Drive attachment will play games but if it doesn't the games will only hold a few gigs as apposed to 50 on the ps3. But yes there is going to be an HD-DVD drive released according various tech sights but it may just be fore movies it is hard to say for certain.

Also Microsoft will release an updated version of the 360 in 2007 that will not overheat or have the noise problem. This leaves an unanswered question in my mind as to whether Microsoft will fix the 360's of people such as myself who bought one the first day of release. I do not feel we should be penalized for supporting the system at the beginning of its life.

If PS3 uses the blu ray disks for games like they say they will then they could create some really long and detailed games. So I would think that the 360 will HD-DVD games to try and keep HD-DVD from losing too much ground to blu ray. Most tech sites say that the reason that the 360 is adding the HD-DVD externally is because they rushed the system which may be why they will be fixing some of the current problems for the batch of 360’s poised to take the market in 2007. I emailed Microsoft 360 tech support and asked them if they were going to fix are 360’s so that they wouldn’t overheat or make so much noise but they haven’t replied yet.

But later this year expect an HD-DVD drive for 360 pricing is going to be between 100-300 but most analysts are saying $199 which is still a little to high for me but if the put games out on the HD-Drive I will be forced to purchase it but no one knows for sure if that is there plan.

I agree ryu PS3 is looking better every time Microsoft opens their mouth Sony’s best bet know will be not to say anything except maybe to point out the HD-Drive add on for the 360 and how it could cause the 360 to cost more then the PS3 is necessary. I just read on Gamepro.com that Immersion came up with next gen controller rumble features.Microsoft is looking in to this,unfortunately Sony cant.The people who have commented have tried it and its the shit according 2 them.My question is why until now?people are not gonna repay 4 their controllers with better rumble(360).and Richter not only 360 freezez,but PSP 2.

I don't have a PSP nor do I want one the only thing I have invested in is a gameboy advance attachment for my Gamecube so that I can play games like breath of fire 1&2. But in all fairness the rumbling controller is all right but they need something better then a controller that rumbles and I really don't see how they will improve the rumble pack. The only way I can see it improved is if they create a feeling of realness like with each step your character takes in a game.

If that is the case then I can see this a great attachment but I imagine that if the controller is wireless and better then the current 360 controller then they will charge more for it then standard 360 controllers.

I suppose that it is another way for Microsoft to try and make a buck because most people probably already bought a second controller but they can use four on a 360 so many people might see this as well it doesn't matter because I can always use another controller.

I am sure this is why Microsoft waited before they looked into the rumble controller created by Immersion can't fault them for the concept just the timing.

I don't really see a new rumble pack as wowing people overall though. Microsoft needs to concentrate on there games that is what will matter of course until I pick up an Immersion controller I can't really make a judgment on how it will affect the market. However if it costs 49.99-59.99 and games are 59.99 what would you get, a new game or controller? I believe this is what most people will ask themselves.

You know my Xbox and 360 both freeze but it only happens with certain games. Morrowind used to freeze all of the time and I remember one time I was playing oblivion and was next to an Oblivion gate on my horse and I went to get off of my horse and the next thing I know I am floating over a red landscape on top a horse and I cannot move. This happened while the game was still new. I haven't had that problem with my PS2 or Gamecube but my old PSX started freezing up after it was five years old. Another couple of games on 360 that I had problems with was baseball, NCAA basketball both of these games are by 2K and Full Auto. I have heard of other games messing up but these are the only ones I know for sure did when I played them.

On Xbox I had problems with Pirates of The Caribbean, MVP Baseball, Jade Empire and a couple others that I played a while back. Sounds like Sony needs to address this PSP freeze then. It makes me angry when these consoles allow there fans to be jipped by all of these screwups that is there fault and game developers are just as bad some of the time. Fix your product before you ship it out and expect your fans to spend there money and that goes for all of the brands and devlopers out there we want products that don't freeze up right at the end of a mission or game and then we have to start over from the begining. I have to gibe Nintendo props they may be the weakest but they certainly are the most reliable.

But back to the point having a better controller or accessory is a risk when you put it out after people have spent there money but companies always seem to even if it isn't very profitable they still like to try.

So until I see this controller for myself and see what it does will I be able to judge if the controller will sell but if your like me you have already purchased a 2nd controller and 2 I have always had bad experiences with controllers that are not the same brand as the console.

I remember I bought 2 controllers for ps2 one was Logitech and another was Madcatz and boy these controllers were just about worthless cheap pieces of junk. One always pulled to left and the other one you had to beat the hell out of to make the top buttons work.

And on Xbox I owned an Intec controller that pulled right and you had to mash the black and white buttons cause the didn't want to work and next I owned a wireless Nyko controller that was expensive but worked good. One problem with it though was by the time you put in the 6 batteries the thing felt like it weighed a ton after a couple of hours of game play.

So in essence Microsoft may use this new rumble feature for there controllers and it will probably sell better because there are 10's of millions who I am sure will still buy a 360 but it again makes me feel like they didn't care enough about the people who fought over there systems last year but I am sure that eventually many of us will need a controller and while purchase another one but the biggest decider for me is will the controller with the new rumble pack have Immersion or Microsoft as the manufacture. That is what I think people purchasing a new controller will look at.

So the new controller will probably sell well since there are still many 360’s to be sold if the name on the controller is X and not Immersion and these add-ons are because of the rush to bet the PS3 to market which may or may not work in Microsoft’s favor only time will tell.

I reserved PS3 at Sam Goody today so if you are looking to buying a PS3 Sam Goody is now reserving them. I was the first one in my area to reserve one at Sam Goody and Gamestop won’t be reserving for awhile according to my Manager friend but I will still reserve my Wii at gamestop when it is avalible.

Before I discuss the problems that I have had with the Xbox or 360 personally I will say that I am sure someone will try and bash or name call me in a later post but don’t bother because I don’t care because I am not some little child and I am not going to sit here and trash talk with everyone because they hate a console not because they have played it and it sucks but because they have issues with who is making the console. Once the console comes out then say you do or don’t like and why after you have bought it or played it at a friends house but try and keep an open mind don’t just say hey the console sucks because this game is not on it. Hate the console because it does not work right when you are trying to play games.

Now back to gaming the damn thing freezes all of the time and I forget to save and have to start over from where I left before and this is really irritating and if the PS3 froze then they need to fix but so far my PS2 or my Gamecube has not frozen in fact a friend of mine who is playing a career on Madden has left his PS2 running since the day the game came out and it hasn't frozen on him so I will assume that the PSP, Xbox, 360 and PS3 have all frozen and people have seen it and this is a problem that needs to be corrected but until the PS3 comes out we will not know if it will in fact freeze and if it does I will be just as pissed off. I bought an Xbox and a 360 the first day of release and I have already reserved a PS3 and will be reserving a Wii when Gamestop will let me. Everybody who I know who as 360 0r an Xbox has had a game freeze and say there is an error with the disk that you are using and the game was brand new its happened to me and from the list of complaints that people are writing it has happened to them. So this isn't a freak accident where I am the only one in the world having problems. 10's of thousands a people are having the same problem. In fact I purchased Morrowind 4 times thinking that it was the copy I had and the same thing happened again, much like Major League Baseball for the 360. The game froze up on me 3 times the first day I had it but I decided to wait before I brought it back and the next day it froze up within the first 10 minutes of the game I was playing and I decided to bring this buggy game back to the store and the man told me that within 2 days they have almost of these games that were sold being returned for the same problem. Now I know it isn't just the machine that I bought because I have played COD2, Hitman and many other games that have not frozen but there are still many games that do freeze often for Xbox and 360.

Speaking of controllers,have any of you've checked the other controller for the Wii on this months Game Informer mag.It kinda looks like the Dualshock 2,but with the Nintendo style.Is the Wii gonna rock or what?And Richter your one of the few people i respect on this,not like these other A-Holes that trashtalk.

Well Dalo I believe that the Wii will be a great console for the price however it will lack some in the graphics department but I am sure that the controller will rock at least at first. But it depends how much you actually like using the num chuck design once you get your hands on it.

I think that after awhile the controller may lose its appeal for most hardcore gamers because you will be using similar motions in every game. I think this may be a reason why they have included a controller that is reminiscent of a dual shock because they know the num chuck design may get tiresome. So then you have to ask yourself if the num chuck loses its appeal will you be able to accept the games for Nintendo that are graphically less appealing then the graphics on other consoles.

Personally I love the reliability of the Nintendo and I will continue to purchase their systems because they are the smallest company of the 3. But I think Nintendo controller will be a nice change from that of the 360 and the PS3. So if you want to wait and buy a PS3 or a 360 when the price goes down like many people then I think the Nintendo Wii will hold you for a few years. So Nintendo Wii have two different controllers is a plus in my book and the one designed like the Dual shock 2 looks like it would fit comfortably in your hands so I like it!!! And Nintendo is supposed to have many different types of games that will appeal to all ages.

Now that being said if you were truly a hardcore gamer like many people have stated they were you would not bash a system before you have played just because you have heard rumors about the system and because the company making the system is Sony.

I have almost every console ever made with more then 3000 games that I have collected since I was 6. So you have no grounds to say that I am not a true gamer when all you do is bash the PS3 because your opinion is that the 360 is the better console. While I Support all of the consoles by purchasing.

1. Many people do not feel that the PS3 is out of there Price range and if you add the HD-DVD attachment to the 360 it is the same price or higher.
2. The 360 is not liable to freeze it does freeze and this has happened to 10’s of thousands of 360 owners.
3. PS2 has many games that outsold Xbox’s best games (Halo and Halo2) also when team Ninja was asked about creating a new Ninja Gaiden for the 360 they stated “that it wasn’t out of the question but they weren’t working on anything yet” but they were seen talking to PS3 reps and Ninja Gaiden is being rumored to appear on PS3. Oblivion will be on PS3 and PS3 has Final Fantasy, MGS4 and God of War 3 in the works. Now you make think these games suck but most of the gaming world does not and the proof is the amount games PS2 sold compared to the games Xbox sold.
4. Now I will give you props on the fact that the controller design could have been better but it is still designed to fit more comfortably in your hands then the 360 controller.

There is a rumor floating around that many developers are jumping ship from the 360 to the PS3 now this only a rumor so don’t get all hyped up. However Half Life 2 is scheduled to appear on the PS3 as well. So when you boil it down PS3 will have tons of games for people to enjoy while 360 has Halo 3 and Gears of War “which I have reserved”.

So you can talk all you want elite but the only game for PS3 that has a trailer on gametrailers that looks inferior to games on the 360 is Tekkan 6 and it was at 40% when they showed the demo. MGS4, Killzone 2, FFXIII, Lair, Assassins Creed etc. This only 4 but all 4 look better then anything that is currently on the 360. There are millions of people trying to reserve PS3’s so you can’t say it won’t sell until after it has launched but I will say that In my opinion PS3’s will outsell the 360 overall. But even after I get my Wii and my PS3 I will still buy 360 games when good ones come out so I will still be giving my money to support all consoles. Don't worry though I think we all know you and mastercheif hate Sony so there is no need to explain it to us any further.

Well I will admit that GTA was Sony's best selling Series overall. However if you look on Wikipedia best selling games for the PSX and PS2 you will notice that the Final Fantasy Series sells just as well as the Xbox’s best series Halo. Gran Turismo 3 was the PS2 actual number 1 selling game not GTA.
Gran Turismo 14.36 Million copies more then Halo 1 and Halo 2 combined and if you don’t believe me go and check it out for yourself.

And for those of you who care the manager at Gamestop who I know told me they would start reserving the Wii in about 2-3 weeks. He said that the representative came into the store 2 days ago and confirmed that it would be early to mid July.

Then the Metal Gear series sells about as well as the Xbox’s best series as well. So the PS3 has 3 strong series left that have sold as well as the Xbox’s best title so I wouldn’t count them out because GTA is multiplatform and if Sony had acted nervous then I would have been worried because if you know anything about business mastercheif you will know that a company does not publicly show weakness because it would cause doubt amongst there stockholders and the consumers.

But Sony still doesn’t have a reason to be worried because Rockstar has said they look forward to creating GTA on a blu ray disk because of the extra amount of detail they can put into the game. So the PS3 version of GTA will probably have extras that 360 version doesn’t. 50GB is a lot more then what a conventional DVD will hold. Besides Sony still has far stronger titles such as Tekkan, Getaway and Kingdom Hearts to go with that will not appear on 360 and I know many of you think these games aren’t any good but there are more people who spent the money to purchase them that think that they are good.

Also mastercheif why do I have to face the facts I have a 360 and I have reserved a PS3 and a Wii. I won’t be the one who will be missing any of the best games because I will have all of the consoles. It will be you who will be missing because you have already judged the PS3 as being a bad system without experiencing it and if some of the developers are right in there statement that the demos for the PS3 were only using 20% or less of what the console is capable of then you will really miss out on some of the greatest games out there but I guess it will be ok because you will have a large selections of shooters for the 360.

We can go on for days saying each system is better or worse then the other because your answer to everything is that you hope the PS3 is garbage because it would make you look good for not buying one but if the PS3 turns out to be way better then you think then it will make you look really dim and all your negative remarks will wind up being farcical.

You know everyone talks about price of the 360 and the PS3 but I would like to talk about game worth. People belittle Sony's approach at trying to popularize blu-ray using a gaming console but what about game prices and worth of these games.

Microsoft will charge 59.99 plus tax for a game that is on standard DVD but for the same price you can purchase a PS3 game that can hold between 25 and 50GB of data.

So if the developer decide to take advantage of the space on the blu-ray disks wouldn't that make the PS3 games have more worth for the same price?

Now I know this all speculation and no one will no for sure if developers will take advantage of the disk format but if the do even multiplatform titles can include more game play on the PS3 then on the 360 or Wii.

Sony seems to stress to the developers that they can utilize the extra space and as gamers there are many games that we wish contained more content then they do. What do you think Ryu and Dalo? Do you think that developers will take advantage of the extra space that the blu-ray disks provide? Also if the DVD’s are virtually the same for last gen and this gen why do they feel the need to raise the price if there is no major change? I know the graphics are better and more detailed but the cost of manufacturing should have gone down some to help compensate. I know that I would purchase more games if they were 49.99 like before and how high do you actually think game prices will get over the next 10 years or 3 generations? Do you think they will follow the $10 increase causing the games 79.99 or do you think the prices will stay the same or lastly still increase but more slowly over the next 10 years?

On the ps3 side, I've heard they're gonna have to scale it back considerably cause they can't disperse enough heat off the cell chip, even with all the vents. So instead of 3.2ghz, it's gonna be 2.8. Also from various reports, there are still no final beta kits out yet, which is insane considering they want to launch 5 months from now world wide, and still do not have final hardware specs, and final development kits out to developers. I thought the 360's launch was pretty bad, but atleast they're hardware was finalized by the time they did it. This could turn out to be the worst system launch since the Phillips CDi. And that is not an exaggeration at all. So musch for 2 teraflops dumbasses. 360 1.7 or so teraflops and their hardware is already released.

Nice 3-post combo wow they suck but I am afraid the scale back was just a rumor. Phil Harrison has already stated that Sony will not change there tech specs this late in the development of the PS3 so there will be no down grades in the PS3. These are just one of the many rumors that people have been starting about the PS3. Phil Harrison also stated that anyone believing that Sony could not fit the components into the PS3’s plastic shell must not know that Sony is known for making components fit in small packages. He goes on to discuss the thin ps2 and the psp.

Next the 360 has 3-3.2 GHZ processor that have a 1 or so floating teraflop power max.

The PS3 has 7-3.2 GHZ processor that max out at 2.8 floating teraflop max.

Also PS3 can put out 51.6 billion dots ops. While the 360 outputs 33.6 dots ops.

So the PS3 still has the power advantage in the processor and any downgrades listed are stated as being rumors that are not true. PS3 will not be downgraded.

Also final dev kits are late but the will be released in a couple of weeks but many developers say that they already understand what they are working with and Sony has been providing much needed support in helping the developers understand the dev kits. So the launch may not be great but it won't be as bad as many speculate.

I read the interview as well but I was Johnathan something or other from Sony Europe. But Richter is right until the system comes out none of us will know what to expect.

Spore looks good but is still only 1 game. But I already have a good computer but I can see where a good computer would come in handy. You know you will be able to serf the internet with a PS3 and there is talk of an expansion that will connect to the PS3 for disk copying.

Unreal Tournament is better then Halo anyday and Resistance Fall of Man will be just as good as F.E.A.R. plus we still have GOW-3, FFXIII, GT5, Heavnly Sword and Assassians Creed for sure because fo far it is only a rumor that the game will be on the 360 because Ubisoft stated that they haven't made plans to make the game multiplatform and 8 Days which are all way better then anything on the 360 at the moment.

Boy elite you sure are stupid for believing every rumor that you read without seeing what the company themselves have to say. Assassins Creed is a PS3 title and the only people that say it isn't are people spreading rumors. There is talk that it may be on the 360 but it is definitely on the PS3.

Ubisoft the creator of the game is still saying it is a PS3 exclusive so until an announcement comes out from the company itself and not people who say they heard it from a reliable source don't go around spreading rumors because you obviously don't know what you are talking about.

Again Ubisoft still denies the rumors that Assassins Creed will be on multiple platforms. The only person saying that it will be multiple platforms is some unknown source.

So sorry 360 lovers Ubisoft has not made an official announcement saying that Assassins Creed will be multiplatform.

They also have sites proclaiming that UT 2007 will be multiplatform but Epic games have already confirmed that UT 2007 will be on PS3 and PC. In fact the head of UT 2007 has said that he felt that UT 2007 would not run that well on the 360.

Also there are rumors “and notice I admit these are rumors unlike other people” that there will be over 280 vehicles on GTA4 for PS3 but the 360’s DVD9 will not have enough space to hold the cars and every other aspect of the game. Now I know Microsoft will have some special content for the 360 version of GTA4 but this doesn’t stop Sony from having there own unique content as well.

So don't believe what sites say without seeing what the company has to say about the games.

You have already been stopped 360 isn't selling that well anymore and Microsoft has supposedly asked Bungie to release Halo 3 Nov.16 2006 instead of 2007. I think Resistance fall of man looks like a great FPS and I even think it can rival Halo but we will have to see. PS3 will have a vast variety of games that the 360 will not have and I am sorry of love shooters but when that is the only thing your console successfully brings then it just gets old.

I also liked the clip of 8days and Unreal Tournament 2007 witch is supposed to be for PS3 and not 360.

I bought an Xbox that freezes the majority of the time. In fact I played Halo Saturday and it froze on me after about 2 hours.

I was wrong when I tried to have a discussion with you and other 360 fan boys and thought I could have a reasonable discussion because the only true fan boys I see are 360 fan boys. All you do is say PS3 sucks and 360 rules and the PS3 isn't even out.

As I said I will own all of the consoles and all of the companies will get my money same as Microsoft did. But the games on the PS3 are looking great at only 20% and the machine will be stronger then the dev kits that were used at E3 was. If Sony lives up to the hype the 360 will not sell as well just like the Xbox didn't. And I know everyone says that Sony had the lead but Sony still sold more console even after the Xbox had come out then Microsoft did. To many people are familiar with Windows I am afraid. But I will continue to support every console even in the next generation.

Microsoft will have some good games just like Nintendo and Sony will.

Nice idea reaver but to many people like to argue about how great there console is and like I said I will have them all so to be honest what all these 360 fans have to say doesn’t make many any difference I bought a 360 and I have reserved a Wii and a PS3 so I won't miss a thing.

But its a true comment anyway reaver there shouldn't be nearly as much console bashing as there is but to many people love the company more then games or the console. So I look forward to picking up my PS3 and Wii on the day of release to see what they have to offer me as a gamer.

To be honest I don't give a shit what any of you think and unlike you Tartarus my favorite games are on the PS3 and not on the 360 but I still bought a 360.

I like RPG's and you can hype Oblivion all you want " and it is good" but I would take Gensu Suikoden over it any day.

I will also purchase a Wii because my little sister comes over occasionally and she likes Mario and some other Nintendo games. Plus I like Metroid and Zelda.

It may seem gay and stupid to you because you obviously see $600 as a lot of money and it is but to add all the necessary hook ups for online play and any extra stuff you may want you will spend just as much on a 360 as a PS3 and most people like the games on PS3 better then the limited games that the 360 has. 600 isn't all that bad if you save 20-30 dollars a week then you can afford it. I am currently a student but for me it seems to make more sense to buy a product that can play games and blu-ray movies then just a standard console.

The blu-ray format will be the winner in the end because it will hold more space and it will offer many movie studios extra protection against video piracy that hd-dvd doesn't have.

Such as that the "PS3 is too high" this is just a statement that I doubt holds true for everyone in the world. How many people paid $300 for an MP3 Player? Or pay $300 for a cell phone? The general populace as a whole spends regularly to help forget the fact that there life isn't exactly going the way that they like. I believe this is why so many people watch TV. I have a huge library of games that I have managed to collect since I was young. My friend came over last week and we played Halo 2 and Hitman for a while but then he got into this boxing frenzy.

He needs to stay away from Fight 07 because he stayed over at my house until 3 a.m. and his wife called every hour on the hour after 10p.m. He said he wasn't leaving till he beat someone and by the end of the night he was 0 and 31. Then he gave me the controller and told me to beat someone because the people online were too good.

So I played and beat the first person I faced. This made him angry and he left said he would be back tomorrow. He came back after 7p.m. and played till 1a.m. and still didn't beat anyone. So long story short he is O Wins and 57 losses but I think he is through with boxing until the PS3 comes out and he can site at home day and night boxing. He has 2 kids and a wife and barely makes a living but he is buying an HDTV and a PS3 with a game in November. Of course I am happy about it because it gets annoying when he comes by my place just play one of my gaming consoles.

So if you get a ps3 and play fight night online against someone going by the gamer tag tank chances are it is him and it should be an easy win.:)

It dependsd on how much money you have to spend on games. If you don't have a lot of money and want a good FPS I think Gears of War looks a ton better, also there is news saying that Best Buy is reserving Halo 3 and saying that the launch date will Nov. 16, 2006. Or the day before PS3 launchs but we shall see.

So in my opnion Halo 3 & Gears of War look better then Prey but if you have plenty of money I guess I could see the appeal of owning all three.

The PS3 and 360 are both going to be powerful machines. There isn't really an answer to which one is going to be more powerful because most of the charts explaining the specs of each system are biased. The Revolution, however, is not going to be near as powerful. Nintendo is aiming to have a system that is original and have new things that no one has seen before.
