Alienware attacks with Quad SLI
Hot on the heels of the Chillblast Atlantis Fusion water cooled twin graphics Crossfire PC we had in the labs last week - which in bench testing proved itself the fastest we'd ever seen - Alienware now has its Quad SLI liquid cooled beast.
The Alienware Aurora ALX uses four Nvidia 7900 series cards combined with AMD's top of the range Athlon64 FX-60 dual core 2.6GHz processor and once in our labs, should blow away all competition.
To round off that top-notch look with screaming performance, Alienware claims its liquid cooling chills components to below the ambient temperature.
For gamers, it means the action will be played at top resolutions. Nvidia hopes that for many that means large screen displays such as the 30inch 3007WFP TFT from Alienware's new owner Dell, which can handle resolutions of 2560x1600.
And is it more than coincidence, we have to ask, that Dell produced the last Quad SLI PC, prior to its new acquisition's version.
Not available yet in the UK, the base model costs just shy of $7,000, so we hope you have very deep pockets.

Just ordered mine - fully kitted out with 4Gb RAM and 1000Gb HDD space.
Add the Sound Blaster X-Fi Elite Pro and a lovely 24" monitor and I'm salivating!
Damn that 7 week lead time!!
