Google Calendar Beta goes live
Not content with web searches, VoIP, mapping, email and countless other services, Google has now launched Google Calendar Beta.
It's currently designed as a trial for the US only, but there's nothing to stop non-US residents giving it a whirl.
Features include the ability to hunt down dates in your Gmail emails and add them to your calendar automatically as well as alerts via pop-ups and texts to your mobile.
Although it's IE and Firefox compatible, Opera users will be disappointed to hear their browser isn't officially supported.
We gave it a quick test run and, although it took a few attempts to load, the clutter-free interface looks good.
The Gmail integration didn't appear to be working, but adding entries manually was no problem at all.
We'll be delving further into Google's new service and will report our findings in the coming days.
You can check out Google Calendar Beta for yourself right now.
