HTC launches new ultra-thin Windows Mobile handset
HTC, the company that develops Windows Mobile 5 smartphones for all and sundry, has launched its latest handset.
The STRTrk, is just 16mm thick and weighs 99g. It has a clamshell design and the main 2.2in screen is complimented by a 1.2in screen on the front.
Not everyone will be pleased to hear it's a Microsoft smartphone, but Windows Mobile 5 certainly has its advantages with Pocket versions of Outlook and Office.
Other features include a 1.3megapixel camera, MicroSD card slot and front-access track navigation buttons for the audio player.
HTC will sell the STRTrk under its Qtek brand as the Qtek 8500. It will be available in June with an RRP of €499 (roughly £360). We expect it to be a fair bit cheaper if/when the likes of O2, T-Mobile, Vodafone and Orange offer it at a subsidised rate as part of a monthly contract.
